90 minute one act

After Anne Frank is the show you get when you cross  Spalding Gray’s Swimming to Cambodia with Lily Tomlin’s A Search for Signs of Intelligent life in the Universe. Funny and touching, it’s a must see!

An Actor’s story

Over the course of my acting career I’ve been cast in The Diary of Anne Frank on three separate occasions. During college I played Anne. In my 20’s I played Anne’s sister, Margot, and years later I played Anne’s mother, Edith.

a jewish story

After Anne Frank interweaves these theatre stories with the oral history of my Uncle - a survivor. And begins a conversation about ‘Commercializing the Holocaust’.

Jews are commanded to tell their stories, but what happens when telling meets commerce?

a true story

My true story about life, identity, theatre, family, forgiveness and the wisdom of Star Trek!

“Writer-performer Carol Lempert has crafted an absorbing one-woman show.... Lempert melds (all this) with her own lively and expressive presence, making After Anne Frank an entertaining, touching, and provocative 90 minutes of solo theater.”

“This production is fresh, filled with pathos, history and a generous dash of humor...As an actress, Carol Lempert so embodies herself on stage without pretense, self-consciousness or aggrandizement that the audience learns a great deal not only about the person before them, but about themselves as well”.
